Hybrid and Electric Vehicles course will provide you with all of the information you need to safely work around today's high voltage and alternative fuels vehicles. Identification, stabilization, shut-down, and extrication procedures are outlined, with safety as the primary focus. This course walks you through the basics of automotive electronics, and provides you with an understanding of how electricity flows through a vehicle, and the proper safety procedures and equipment required for handling these vehicles at crash scenes. This course is available as a 3 hour basic class, or a 6 hour Train-The-Trainer class.
At the completion of this course, you will understand how Electric and Hybrid vehicles work, along with the design and operation of the new Alternative Fuels vehicles. You will also know how to handle these vehicles at the crash site to ensure the safety of everyone on scene, and updated techniques to extricate patients from these new high tech vehicles.
